Who we are

Sangam Foundation is the alumni association of the 1996 batch of Al Minhaj National School. We are based at C43/2 Huruhela Road, Hapugastalawa, and we run annual welfare projects for the community we grew up in.

Our name reflects what we set out to do: "Sangam" means gathering, and our motto — Friendship in Action — is the whole idea. A group of school friends who stayed in touch decided that staying in touch should mean something for the people around us.

What we do

Our first and current project is Stationery Distribution: school supplies for children of low-income families ahead of each new school year. Numbered application forms are handed out, filled in, reviewed by the committee, and packs are collected on a single day at the school hall.

We plan to add further welfare projects over time, run by the same committee under the same foundation.

The committee

The foundation is run by volunteer committee members from the 1996 batch, supported by a wider group of alumni who help with fundraising, distribution day, and outreach. A full list of current committee members will be published here soon.
